Lets atleast speak the truth about income tax burdens
I continue to get annoyoed by the misleading conversation (probably intentional) over tax burdens and the rich. Trust me, i don’t fall into the bucket of the rich but i think people need to inform themselves on the burden picked up by the top 1% and even top 10% of income earners in the US. What do you think those top buckets pay? You think its fair to tax the wealthy even more and simply distrubute their earnings to the less wealthy? Here is the simple facts.
The top 10% of income earners paid 70% of all income taxes in 2005 vs. 48% of all income taxes in 1981. The bottom 50% of all people paying income tax only paid 7.5% in 2005! How much more should we tax the rich? Call me crazy, but this seems like punishing success and simply redistributing their income behind a foggy mirror. Some how punishing success doesn’t seem like a great way to grow an economy. The top 10% of income earners already carry the majority of income tax burnden for the entire country! Lets atleast talk the facts.
